Veronica Tyler Christie otherwise known as “V” for short.

Veronica’s journey blends music, nonprofits, and meaningful community-bonding. As the bass trombonist for the 7th Street Big Band, she has contributed to four albums, including Post Hang, and performed at multiple festivals, headlining the San Jose Jazz Festival in 2022 while being a regular performer for four years. Beyond performing, she taught at SJZ Progressions, working with underserved communities and reaching 200-400 students weekly. Through her teaching, Veronica nurtured a love for music while fostering collaboration and personal growth.

Veronica’s admin expertise spans music, education, events, and nonprofits. She excels in managing databases, branding, social media, project tracking, employee orientation, and labor compliance research. A key strength is her ability to anticipate and solve challenges before they arise, ensuring smooth operations. Veronica believes in modernizing practices to stay ahead of an ever-changing work environment, optimizing internal structures, improving communication, and identifying opportunities for growth in workplace culture.

Her commitment to inclusivity extends to the gaming nonprofit sectors. As Programming Division Head for MAGWest, she led efforts to diversify guest appearances and recruit volunteers from underrepresented backgrounds. This work earned her a spot on the MAGFest Inc. Board of Directors in 2022, and she was promoted to Board President in 2024. In this role, she facilitated board retreats, oversaw the selection of Executive Director Debra Lenik in 2023, and encouraged strategic planning to foster an inclusive future for the organization.

Veronica also made her mark in podcasting. She hosted Lady Blerds Sing the Blues, advocating for inclusive spaces and covering topics like nerd culture, current events, and sexual health from the perspective of Blerd women. She also hosted Don’t Cast n Drive, celebrating the diverse journeys of artists and their creativity.

In 2023, Veronica joined Relovelution’s Millennial Managers Collective and participated in the Take the Lead: 50 Women Can Entrepreneurship Cohort. In 2024, she completed Relovelution’s Leadership Accelerator Program and is now working towards an Executive Leadership Certificate with the People’s Nonprofit Accelerator, uplifting her skills in fostering diversity, equity, and justice in every space she enters.

Through her work, teaching, and artistry, Veronica remains dedicated to creating communities where authenticity is embraced, and those who need invitation can thrive without fear or barriers.
